The Craythorne
Golf Course: 3367 Staffordshire

Burton upon Trent
Golf Course's own web site
The Craythorne provides is a challenging parkland course that is easy walking with a selection of tight holes and well protected greens.

Originally the design was a 9 hole layout that was re-routed in 1983 to become 18 holes.

Not a great deal of investment was given to the course in its first 20 years and it wasn't until the present owner, Tony Wright , took over that major changes were made.

Over 5000 trees, 75,000 tonnes of soil, irrigation system, two ponds, 15 new tees and 5 new greens have been introduced in the past 10 years.

With all this change, it isn't to say that The Craythorne is not maturing quickly.

By subtly marrying in the "old and the new" the course manages to have given an impression of being older than it is.

There are 5 par three's and only one par 5 but this relatively short course is well guarded by a variety of obstacles to challenge both the advanced and starting golfer.

We hope that all players manage to get around the course in a maximum of 3 ½ hours.
