Eskdale is a secluded private golf course with no members adding to its charm.

Tree lined fairways await in this spectacular setting in the inspiring Eskdale Valley.

Watch your tee shots set off through the air within the backdrop of dense pine forests and mountain crags.

The signature hole is the 151 yard par 3 14th where an elevated tee looks toward a vast trout pond where any wayward tee shot will find water.

Wildlife is abundant on Eskdale with Red Deer and Foxes roaming the fairways and Buzzards, Kestrels and Hawks soaring above the tees and greens.

Another interesting hole is the par 4 5th where any hooked drive will end up in the white water of the River Esk and its habitual Salmon (fishing is also available on five miles of prized angling).

The par 3 8th is a superb hole with an abundance of Azalea bushes the backdrop immediately beyond the flag and the par 5 9th takes you on a scenic journey from Muncaster Castle up to Scafell, England's highest mountain.

The dog legged 12th takes you past the clubhouse again (time to stop for a drink) and any slices will end up in the larch forest.

The clubhouse is situated immediately behind the par 3 18th where golfers can watch their friends hit their tee shot while they have sought refuge already with a cup of coffee or sandwich.

A pressure tee shot if ever there was one!

Please book any refreshments the day before play or on booking
